Nylon – Strength and technical flexibility

Nylon – Strength and technical flexibility

Nylon is a technical material with high mechanical strength. Recommended for parts subject to friction or repetitive stress.

Technical properties:

  • Tensile strength: ~60–80 MPa

  • Young's modulus: ~1.7–2.5 GPa

  • Elongation at break: 100–300%

  • Density: 1.14 g/cm³

  • Heat deflection temperature: ~90–100 °C

  • Coefficient of friction: Low

Common applications: Gears, bushings, moving parts.
Advantages: High wear resistance and slight flexibility.
